More space means more options in Cluj-Napoca, Romania

Since 2013, the Tetarom Industrial Park in Jucu, about 20 kilometers north of ClujNapoca, has exemplified pioneering innovations in mobility. Around 3,800 associates develop and produce pioneering technologies at the site, which is consistently scaling up production.

The new building, known as Clj 104c, not only fits seamlessly into the existing plant infrastructure from an architectural point of view, but it also offers an additional 4,600 m² of space for new ideas and efficient processes. As part of the expansion, two new loading ramps were created to ensure faster and more effective access for trucks. A newly constructed connecting corridor also ensures short paths when moving between adjacent production buildings.

The new building houses modern production areas, extensive storage areas for components and equipment and a specially designed chemical warehouse that meets the highest safety standards. A tailor-made extinguishing system protects the facility. Integrated cold rooms in the storage area for particularly sensitive materials enable storage at temperatures as low as minus 40 degrees Celsius.

The expansion also offers noticeable improvements for associates: The new gallery on the upper floor connects the new areas with the existing changing rooms, which are also equipped with showers. The energy supply for the new building – from electricity and compressed air to cooling technology – was fully integrated into the existing infrastructure, ensuring that power is supplied reliably to all areas.

The expansion not only increased the production capacity of the plant in Cluj, but it also boosted flexibility and made the facility ready for decades of use. Moreover, the expansion underscores the fact that this location is much more than just a production site: It is a competence center that actively invests in technologies and innovative, forward-looking solutions.
