Open office spaces with glass meeting rooms

The Powertrain Solutions (PS) site in Hemaraj, Thailand has been expanded. From December 2020 to March 2023, PS extended its existing production facility to add approximately 6,750 square meters of space. The extension included office space, a cleanroom, and an expanded production facility. The site’s photovoltaic system was also upgraded, from 1.3 to 1.9 megawatts of nominal capacity.

The new office was designed according to the Bosch concept of “inspiring working conditions:” with open spaces, lounges, large offices, and a hot-desking setup. The spaces are intended to facilitate a creative working environment and to give associates from different business areas the opportunity to exchange ideas. The factory was also designed accordingly.

The challenge of the project was to expand the building without hampering production. Ultimately, the factory continued to operate normally while the entire production facility, the cleanroom, and the offices were each opened up into single spaces that directly connected the new sections of each area to the old ones.

At the same time, the coronavirus pandemic presented significant obstacles for the project. Thanks to the precise planning and organization of the project managers, however, the construction project was still completed on time. The total costs of the project amounted to 11.9 million euros.
