The new office building that is being built in Leonberg sets new standards: With 48,124 square meters of floor space, the new building offers room for 2,000 associates. Across six floors, it combines open-space working environments, a daycare center, and a company restaurant. The entire building was designed with a focus on functionality, sustainability, and aesthetics.

A lot of thought has gone into the overall architecture: Tiered levels provide space for green terraces, and the recessed main entrance on Poststraße creates a public forecourt that allows for a welcoming atmosphere for visitors and associates alike.

Inside, an atrium flooded with light extends across all floors. This communication center serves as a meeting place, event venue, and heart of the building. A spacious staircase, which can also be used as a grandstand, provides space for events and exhibitions. The daycare center, which offers space for 70 children – including some from Leonberg – is located directly above the atrium.

The office floors are designed with flexibility in mind: Open-plan work areas can be adapted to different needs, and spiral staircases connect the levels to facilitate collaboration. Each floor has a lounge area with a coffee corner, intended as a ‘marketplace’ for teamwork and communication. Lounge chairs, high tables, and work niches promote internal exchange and offer places of retreat.

The office has a creative, eyecatching ceiling design.
The atrium impresses with its brightness and offers space for networking.

The design emphasizes natural materials: Dark lacquered steel and wooden elements made of silver fir and oak set clear accents. Each floor has its unique identity that draws on different color schemes such as turquoise, green, or purple.

Sustainability is the guiding principle in Leonberg. The use of green roofs, photovoltaic systems, renewable energies, heat recovery, and certified timber led to earning the DGNB Platinum award, the highest badge of honor awarded by the German Sustainable Building Council. In addition, a photovoltaic system provides up to 160 kWp of power, and the rainwater is processed and reconditioned for use on site.

There is space for 260 cars, 210 bicycles, and charging facilities on the two basement levels. Moreover, there are even showers and changing rooms. This allows associates to get to work by bicycle without a sweat.

The new building in Leonberg combines sustainability, aesthetics, and innovation – and it illustrates what modern working environments of the future could look like.
