The logistics warehouse, seen here at the left, is connected to the manufacturing facility.

A new site for Bosch subsidiary Rexroth has been constructed in Brnik, Slovenia, near the capital city of Ljubljana. With the completion of the site, we have achieved a strategic objective: the merger of three sites scattered throughout the region – Škofja Loka, Železniki, Šenčur – into one location. The new site in Brnik manufactures a range of products, including servo motors, electric motors, and the Nexo wireless cordless screwdriver. It also features an engineering center, a mechanical processing facility, and office spaces.

The wooden siding on the entrance halls is a unique detail.

There are approximately 14,000 square meters of floor space for process- optimized manufacturing in the new facility. A logistics warehouse completes the building. Inbound and outbound logistics are clearly separated from one another. The site was constructed according to a unique concept: Design & Build. The Global Center for Integrated Planning and Implementation (PPR) at GR worked in close partnership with Rexroth to select an investor for the project. While the investor developed, planned, and constructed the site, PPR supervised the project to ensure that all the requirements were met. For instance, the building is designed to be expanded as
needed. The war in Ukraine and supply chain issues hampered the start of construction, but the building was still completed three months earlier than planned. Formally, the site is now being leased to the users.

The manufacturing facility when it was still empty: now, motors are being produced here.

Naturally, sustainability and environmental aspects were also taken into account. Material excavated during the construction process itself was reused, and the new site has the latest heat insulation thanks to the cutting-edge insulated glass installed in the building. Photovoltaic panels generate electricity, and there are charging stations for electric vehicles.

Merging multiple smaller sites has a range of benefits. The closer physical proximity allows the business areas to cooperate more effectively and optimize processes. And by being concentrated in one location, Facility Management can also offer better services.

3 months earlier than planned: associates were able to move into the new site faster than expected.
