2024 A successful year

Cost efficiency, master plans, and extensive teamwork: The highlights of the past year take us around the world.

Master Plan for the British Isles

In its 125th year of existence, Bosch is active in Great Britain and Ireland at more than 50 sites. As a strategic partner, Bosch GR is implementing a coordinated master plan for all these projects. To this end, the team has developed scenarios that look far into the future, while accounting for all stakeholders of each site.

First Refrigerator Factory in Mexico

BSH has been producing refrigerators in Mexico for the North American market since July. Investments in the Monterrey factory located in the northeast of the country amount to around 240 million euros and will create around 1,500 jobs. More than 300,000 refrigerators are produced each year in a sustainable and climate-neutral manner. “Our first household appliance factory in Mexico represents a strategic milestone”, said Andre Piel, Managing Director of BSH Mexico.

Vision for the Future: New TFC Team Takes FCM and Operations to the Next Level

The newly formed TFC Team was successfully launched in April. TFC, which stands for Transformation Future Concepts, bundles all topics relating to facility management and operations at a global level for the first time. The new team is tasked with creating synergies by introducing global harmonization, norms, and standards. The key focus is on stabilizing IFM topics and to act as a think tank for future applications. The TFC team also addresses the topic of “Future FCM” or “Strategic FCM” aimed at organizing forward-looking projects in an efficient manner. The actual implementation of digitalization, in turn, is handled by the BDO global service division. TFC will become the central hub that coordinates the requirements of the IT teams of the FCM regions, clusters, and sites together with BDO and coordinates implementation.

“Follow the Sun” – Supercharged Collaboration

In November, colleagues from all over the world came together to experience the GR Collaboration Booster online and offline. At this event, it became clear how the “Follow the Sun” concept connects GR globally all the way from Asia-Pacific to Latin America. The three days packed with interactive sessions across the globe set the starting point for many more interconnected projects.

Yokohama – First Bosch Ensemble with Urban Cultural Center

In September, Bosch opened a very special office and cultural ensemble of GR in Yokohama, Japan. The site strengthens cross-divisional collaboration and impresses with its light-flooded rooms, balconies, solar roof and rainwater harvesting, an integrated cultural center and a public café. Around 270 million euros went into this project, making Yokohama the largest capital investment since Bosch entered the Japanese market in 1911. In addition, a new municipal cultural center – the Tsuzuki Ward Cultural Center – has been created in the same building. This is Bosch’s first investment in a public-private partnership project (PPP) and as such, it marks a collaboration that extends far beyond Bosch.
